In May 2007, Darren and Manda took possession of a cute blue ex-State house in Kingsland, Auckland, New Zealand.
The blue house needs some love, and we’re here to do just that. We have a tight budget (though Mitre 10 Mega often convinces us to break it) and are prepared to put in a lot of elbow grease to make up for what we can’t spend. Where possible, our cat Ziggy W Catface likes to keep us company while we DIY. She’s lucky she hasn’t been accidentally painted yet!
We also love finding out things about it, like hints as to what the original decor was. The house originally sat in a section down the road, but in the 70s it was chopped in half and moved along when the sections were split up.
House stats:
- 3 bedrooms (or 2 and a study as we have set it up)
- 1 bathroom
- Nice big lawn
- Massive sunny north-facing deck (extended since the original build)
- Off street parking
- Polished tongue and groove floors
