We have a line of bins that sit perfectly in a little space by the ‘front’ door: red garbage, yellow garden & blue recycling bin.
It’s probably a bit weird as most people wouldn’t have them by their main door but most people actually come round to the ‘back’ of the house which we consider the main entrance with the deck and the view.
We decided to make this little area a bit tidier by putting in some garden pavers - the sort where the grass can grow up between. This means that when the area gets quite soggy in winter it’s not as muddy.
It was a bit of a terrible job in the end as the ground is quite hard there and Darren ended up having to use a pick to dislodge it - but we think the end result is worth it. It’s not a huge thing to do around the house but it does add to the general tidiness of the property, so we are pleased.
