One thing we had to do pretty much immediately was figure out how we were going to fill the empty rooms. From a partially furnished flat to a completely empty house is a big change!
Luckily our friends at Trademe and Target were there to help. They have a MASSIVE range of MDF furniture which we now own a bit of – all it requires is a quick undercoat and some nice paint to cover. So far we’ve done two bedside tables and three bookcases in this way and they look great!
Target were also MUCH cheaper and more helpful with desks as well as a lounge suite which we got covered in our colour of choice…I doubt they’ll be the keepers that last forever but right now they fit the bill.
We got some nice newly re-covered vintage chairs to go with our formica dining table and a coffee table to sit in front of the new lounge suite – although it is a bit higher than I expected.
Slowly we’re getting unpacked and figuring out what else we need…now at least the house isn’t so crazy empty!
