One weekend in early April, we decided to start looking for a house, thinking that we might find somewhere to live by the time our lease expired in October. Despite being a bit scared about rising interest rates, and the grown up feeling of worrying about a mortgage we realised it was time to jump on in before it became out of reach.
We approached house hunting like we do flat hunting - newspaper in one hand, coffee in the other - and saw about 5 houses both days.
The next weekend, we were tricked into going to see an open home in Fourth Ave there was no way we could afford (although it is a very awesome house). We walked out to the car feeling slightly dejected and saw a man from The Joneses setting up for an open home across the road.
We decided to check it out, and ten minutes later we were in love.
Much stressing, research and finger crossing later, our offer was accepted on 24 April, pending house inspection and finance. It then all started to fit into place and we took possession on 25 May 2007. The rest becomes…history.
